This 20th day of November in Brazil celebrate the Day of Black Consciousness . Just in 1695 , on the same date one of the great heroes of our history called Zumbi of Palmares was killed for leading one of the largest movements of resistance against slavery in the Americas Quilombo dos Palmares in the state of Pernanbuco . So the 20th of November is a day of reflection and action for all the Brazilians of African descent and the search for peace that passes for equal rights and valuing human dignity . Thus nothing better than bringing art interlocutor promotion of the peace process and social balance . So this year 2014 the International Exhibition of Black Cinema , which was created by anthropologist and filmmaker Professor Celso Luis Prudente 10th anniversary bringing Brazilian cinema the global cinematic art that portrays the image of black with a positive image in society , based on the Cinema Novo movement that had as one of its major stakeholders the great filmmaker Glauber Rocha. This film festival this year celebrates 50 years of Dr.Martin Luther King ‘s speech ” I Have a Dream ” and the 100th anniversary of the poet and composer Vinícius de Morais between her obraz brings great sin Orfeu da Conceição The theatrical and makeup the Afros Sambas ‘s work , the poet had the partnership with guitarist Baden Powell .
The International Exhibition of Black Cinema which over the years included films from five continents and had the presence of the musician and composer Gilberto Gil, musician and composer , actor and filmmaker Haroldo Costa , Paulinho da Viola , Lázaro Ramos , Paul Betti , Tony Tornado , Zeze Motta , Sergio Ricardo Antonio Pitanga , Fab 5 Freddy follows this year 2013 bringing films from the UK , Uruguay , Brazil and Ukrania . The exhibition of the films will be held during 25th to November 30th in São Paulo followed by discussions with the filmmakers .
