Global beat pioneers Da Lata have just released their long awaited new album ‘Fabiola’ on Agogo Records. The album started taking shape in 2010 after Patrick Forge returned to London from living in Japan and reconnected with Da Lata writer and producer Chris Franck; the duo were soon making tentative steps towards creating a new record. Dispensing with programming and electronic production, ‘Fabiola’ represents a new era for Da Lata drawing together a worldwide family of collaborators old and new, who have helped craft a record with Afro-Brazilian influences and a dance-floor sensibility. Over the course of their 20 years, the members of Da Lata have worked alongside, remixed or collaborated with the likes of Femi Kuti, Sly and Robbie, Ernest Ranglin, Baaba Maal, and

Bebel Gilberto. They’ve played some of the biggest stages around the world including Roskillde, Coachella, Glastonbury, North Sea Jazz and Central Park Summer Stage. During the 2012 Olympics, the band came together to perform at Gilles Peterson’s and Patrick
Forge’s Another Sunday Afternoon At Dingwalls and the Casa Brasil sessions at Somerset House.
