LIFT is celebrating its 20th pan-London festival 2- 29th June 2014. LIFT is an international arts festival that connects London with the world through 30 productions from 13 countries across 15 venues. The festival includes work from Brazilian director Renato Rocha – “Turfed”.

“Turfed” uses the philosophy of football to explore the global issue of homelessness. Renato – who directed the opening and closing ceremonies of Street Child World Cup – brings together a team of young performers who have been affected by homelessness. Having said this, it is not a ‘community’ piece – these are performers who have real ability. The cast harnesses the ideals and passion of football to engage and connect the audience with their experiences.
