Colour and love tell photographer’s story in double exhibition
Prolific art photographer Antonisia Schroder has launched the first of two exhibitions running in north London in which she has used the elements of colour and love to create an incredible photographic display.
Her series ‘The Colour of My Love’ is at the centre of the show, which was created to communicate the love between a mother and her children and tell some of the story of their relationship. The unique ‘paintography’ style Antonisia has employed is seen as striking and groundbreaking.
Speaking about the series, she said: “A mother’s love is something that can never be understood by anyone other than a mother; no matter what your children do, say or how they act, they are for ever your children and there is nothing that could make a single small difference to the way you feel about them.
“The love of a mother remains constant and will remain until the day she dies.”
The Colour of My Love continues the theme of ‘colour’ in Antonisia’s publicly displayed work, with her painting ‘The Colour of Literacy’ (also on display) seen as a work of art which helps to educate as well as enthral viewers.
Antonisia will also be exhibiting more of her work from the ‘Expressions of the Soul’ show that ran in Essex in June. A fuller set of images from her series based around her published fairytale Zonia…More than a Fairytale are on display, alongside another series called ‘Hope – 2,000 Years Ago’, based around the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; another story which is very important to her as a devout Catholic. The Zonia fairytale book will be on display, alongside all her other published books (available in the artist’s bookstore at www.blurb.co.uk ).
The first of Antonisia’s shows is on now and runs until the end of July at All Saints Church, Oakleigh Road North in Whetstone. Her second show starts at St John the Baptist Church in Wood Street, Barnet, during the week commencing Monday 29 July and runs until 25 August.
Antonisia has run exhibitions across London and Essex as well as internationally.
