English language teacher training at São Paulo State University

The São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Brazil welcomes applications from postgraduate students enrolled in British universities who are working towards a PhD degree in English language teaching for foreign students. Candidates can apply to stay for 10 months (from March 2014 – to December 2014), or for 8 months (starting in August 2014 until March 2015).
Selected candidates will be enrolled as exchange students in a PhD program at UNESP, and will be co-supervised by researchers from the Language Departments. They will be developing research and teacher training activities on a full time basis in one of UNESP’s campuses: Araraquara, Assis, Bauru, Botucatu, Guaratinguetá, Ilha Solteira, Jaboticabal, Presidente Prudente, Rio Claro, São José dos Campos, and Sorocaba, located at the State of São Paulo, Brazil.
Students will receive a monthly scholarship to cover subsistence costs, plus a travel grant for the purchase of the return airfare to Brazil.
This mobility programme is promoted by UNESP and the British Council in Brazil.
